We hope you all had a fabulous 4th!!! We spent the weekend in Waco helping my brother and sister in law clean up the new place that they just got. They just closed on 22 acres, it has a home on it, but eventually their plan is to build a new home on it. Right after they closed, the previous owner (or someone else) decided to go and trash the place. They stole their central ac unit with the copper wires, ripped the door off of a refrigerator and left NASTY DIRTY dishes in the dishwasher. There were trash bags, drink containers and all kinds of mess thrown around the property and in the house. Welcome home, right?! Who does things like that?!
They were very upset when they went over after closing to find the place as it was. So, we (myself, hubby and my mom) went up Friday and hubby helped my brother rip out the carpet and install new laminate flooring. What a difference clean, new floors can make! While they did the floors, the girls walked the property and picked up TONS of junk and trash that had been left, we also managed to clean out the shop area that is located right next to the house.
We at least were able to help give them a jump start and they plan on having painters come in and repaint everything in the next week or so. Hopefully things will start shaping up for them soon! Here are some pics from the weekend...we all look and were SOOO hot, tired and worn out by the end of the weekend!
